Getting ready for another assembly item

Angel leads the song Seasons.
The whole class did so well learning all the words for this song. Will try to upload a better video at the beginning of next term.

The water dragon comes to school.

On Monday the 11th of April we had a visitor in our class. It was Miss Templeton’s water dragon.
Seiariki thinks it had a fat tummy.
Jonas and Corey know that it has a very long tail.
Briez, Joshua and Drae like the stripes on it.
Angel found out that she can run fast.
Alius saw her jump in her cage.
James would like to see it climb trees.
Ararau counted its toes; it has five toes on each foot.
Caylee and Gareth found out that it eats meal worms and sometimes dog food.
Varsa saw that it has hooks on the ends of its toes to help it climb.
Shimmir knows that it likes to sit up high and watch what is happening.
Sire watched Miss Templeton catch the dragon.
Sam knows that the water dragon likes to swim.

It was fun but a bit scary having the dragon in our class for the morning. Miss Templeton calls the dragon Gizzard but she found out it is a girl so we will have to come up with a girly name.

Baby Bird

Miss Templeton was given a baby bird by Brooklyn in Room 6. She found it behind the tree outside Room 6.
We went into the garden and found some worms. The bird did not eat the worms.

We got a weetbix and mushed it up and Miss Templeton is feeding it. We are not sure if the bird will live.

The bird is making lots of noise and calling for its mother. It will have to have someone look after it for a couple of days.

Sorry to say but the bird did not live.

Hippo Report

The finished report.

Hippos

Hippos swim and stay under the water for about 5 minutes at a time.
They eat grass and plants.
The mum hippo looks after the baby and feeds it milk.
A baby hippo can swim before it can walk.
Jon-Haze thinks that the hippo has a very big mouth. Jessica knows that the hippo cannot see very well and Ashleigh knows that most hippos live in Africa.

Start of a new year at Strathmore School

Wow here I am at school on Monday getting the last few things ready for the start of a new year. I have 15 children on my roll so far.
